The LT18i "Xperia Arc" was released in Spring 2011, 4 years ago, the last update was Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. 

For the 2011 Xperias Android GingerBread was the last stable update Android 2.3

Ginger Bread Android 2.3

Honeycomb  Android 3.0 (Only for tablets)

Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0

Jelly Bean  Android 4.1

Kit Kat      Android 4.4

Lollipop    Android 5.0-5.1

Hi,

It's always recommended to update the phone to the latest version. Updates are released to improve the functionalities of the phone and also fix any flaws that might be in the earlier software.
