Hi Isabella, factory reset phone and sign in to your GMail account.

Just note that this process will erase phone data completely, backup if necessary.

Have been having problems trying to access the android market as per posts above.

Nothing.

message returned stating username and password do not match.

I have had 2 other people try to access the market on this Xperia S also, and they receive the same m essage.

I have done factory reset and also tried the You Tube sign in and nothing.

Any clues....

Hi Smee323, in that case, have you tried Software Repair?

Here's the download link to Update Service, http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/

Download and install to PC/Laptop, launch it and follow on-screen instructions. Be aware that this process will erase phone data completely, backup if necessary.

hi.

Downloaded software, but get error message stating you have the latest build.  Phone has .67 and latest build is 73.  Will wait for ICS to arrive and see how we go.

Resolved Market/Play Store issue.

Seems Google have been rolling out duel verification on certain accounts.  Mine was one.  It was set ages ago on registration and had not previously caused problems. Most devices are not handling this "Feature " well.

Got into Google account, and reset verification settings and took backup of confirmation codes and downloaded them to the phone.

Also added phone as part of the 2 step process and resolved the code issue through Google Authentication App.

Took about 2 hours to figure it all out with one of my service providers Andriod tech guru's, but all sweet now.  Tech Guru had it happen to him a day or so previous and it took a while for him to figure it out.  Says he might start seeing more pepole experience this problem now 2 step process is in force.

Hey, I have the exact same problem as isabella. I tried a factory reset but the sad part is that it deletes everything including my phone configuration and so when the phone startsup and the system says it will now connect to the internet bt ,lol, it cannot connect as it doesnt hav the required network connection n so I cannot log in to my account during initial setup. And by the time I get the required config from the service provider I cannot login. Btw we do not hav wifi around here so its not an option sadly. one more thing, I cannot seem to b able to connect wit any of my apps that comes bundled with the phone i.e. Facebook and youtube n also SE sync plus m unable to download anything of size bigger than in kbs, I get a- size too big messge. . please help if possible. Thanks.
