Android 5.0.2 - Wi-Fi Issues

Hi,

My Z3c phone received the Android 5.0.2 update last week and although I have been generally happy with the update, the wi-fi performance has taken a big hit and doesn't seem as reliabile as it was. I have also noticed that connections are dropped and recreated randomly throughout the day even though the device has not moved from the access point. This is particularly true when using application such as Situations and Smart Unlock. The developers of these apps have confirmed that there are problems with the 5.0.2 update and that Google fixed these with v5.1. Do we know when Sony will be releasing this update for the series Z devices?

I'm very sorry to hear that Slightly_frowning_Face

I recommend that you contact a service centre to have this examined and fixed. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, please contact your Local support.

Sorry to hear that your phone is no longer under warranty Slightly_frowning_Face

In case WiFi can't be turned on even after a software repair using PC Companion, the phone needs repairs.

After a sudden death issue, I got motherboard replaced under warranty and my phone now has latest 5.1.1 firmware. If you remember I had crazy wi-fi issues after I have upgraded from KitKat to first Lollipop build. So I rolled back to Kitkat and was happy with it until my phone started to play sudden death game. So now I have it back with fresh Lollipop and no issues with my same home wi-fi network. Can there be any explanation? Upgrade is not going smooth? Always do hard resets? If so, this is just not acceptable.
