Android 4.2.2 - Sony Xperia L keeps restarting

After my software update to Android 4.2.2 my phone kept restarting. 

For once the restarting continued for more than 14 hours in a row (where my phone was operational for 10 seconds in between restarting). 

After doing a hard (factory) reset & removing apps that never used to cause any problems, the phone works better again. Nevertheless, it still reboots approximately 14 times a day (and I think it also happens when I sleep). 

Problem is that I can't use those apps & my phone keeps restarting - in the middle of phonecalls etc. 

The phone is now 2 months old.. and I hope this bug can be fixed somehow.

I suggest that you start your phone in safe mode to see if the problem you are expereincing may be related to any 3rd party application installed in your phone:

My Xperia L also keeps retarting on Adroid 4.2.2  it alos locks up. I then have to remove battery to get it back !! 

Bring on bug fix I am missing calls since upgrading to 4.2.2 !!! 
Google ASK voice search also fails  after update !! 

This is a very serious problem !!!

Have you tried to start your phone in safe mode? 

If you still experience the same behavior in safe mode I suggest that you try to reinstall the phone software using PC Companion: 

http://www.sonymobile.com/update

In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phones software > Press the blue link that says "Repair phone".

I have the same problem of the phone of keep rebooting. I got the phone yesterday and I had heavy use for installing and setting, logging in to all my apps...and then this problem started! seems started with a serious a conflict with Chrome with forced the device to reboot several time after using chrome but later on seems the phone got a software damage and kept rebbot randomly.

How to start the phone in safe mode? you forgot to explane it...

Press power button longer,you get the turn off option,tap longer on it,it should pop a message to restart in safe mode.

thanks I tryied but not worj that way: the same power off option keep coming. (weird).

so I have to do the second way of boot the phone with volume down phold too.

bad news: even in safe mode the phone is rebooting 😕

really cant figure out what is it ...... and I have this phone since 2 days only!

I have recently started to have this issue, I uninstalled the two latest apps (twitter and facebook messenger) think that it may be them.  I have tried safe mode and my phone still restarts when using chrome browser.

i am happy to try the repair out when i have time, is there any way I can submit a diagnostic to sony?

Hello! I have a similar problem! Tested firmware 4.2.2: .26, .14 and .17 (new).
Everywhere occur random rebooting! On Android 4.1 everything is fine! Ask programmers Sony - check / test it thoroughly.

I've already done: Repair on Sony PC Compacion and Sony Update Service. The problem is not solved. Even in safe mode.
