Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for Xperia Sola & U?

Sony in their announcement today declared that 2012 devices will recieve the Jelly Bean update, however the list of phones doesn't mention Xperia Sola and U? What sort of a contradiction is this ? Anguished_Face

Xperia Go (same internals) and Xperia J (way inferior) have been listed. Did Sony give the list as an example or made a mistake by not mentioning?

Senior members and Sony representaives please clarify.

it's useless to wait for it..!! even though you update it to jelly bean, your device is gonna really suck in speed and there will be visible stutter staring from your lock screen and the home app.. i was too eager to update my device Neo to ICS and i really regret doing that.. you still feel you'll be okay with the new update and even if it lags a little you'll be able to bear it till one day. you are'nt gonna be stopped by me though, you'll know if you've got one and after you've upgraded it to 4.1

Because ALL SONY's firmwares are too heavy, and RAM Killer, and not really optimized, and bad for gaming. Slightly_frowning_Face

you can check out the other brand, same OS and specifications, but very smooth and not so become a RAM Killer, and very optimized even for gaming. Winking_Face

Sony has make a big failure making a customized ROM. They may didn't think of performance.. just fashion. Angry_Face

Good bye, gonna sell my SONY phone ASAP. Crying_Face

Why you guyz don't take unofficial from XDA developers and fix the bugs? I already test it in my Xperia U and it works very good. Without lags or something else. Exept the led bar and the front camera i think . But it's really nice ! Slightly_smiling_Face

You can, but sony's personalization and style are a little light when compared to HTC's and little heavy than Samsungs. Sony is on medium with the UI and i deny that, it's not RAM killing, it's the same in samsung which has no features that sony provides. i personally have compared a s3 and xperia P while i got like 600Mb of RAM free in P and jus 450 MB in s3. it's depends on the way you use it. it's jus like if you don't like the UI then don't use.. it's not perfect but good for those who expect animations and stuff in UI and can't afford a HTC.

And FYI sony is awesome for gaming, my 2 year old xperia neo device can take Asphalt 6 and MC3 which are really challenging for 2011 devices...no lags if you close all recent apps...

hey ... i'd not recommend Xperia P if you wish for jelly bean. the phone is at its best with ics. And sorry bro, i have left my phone back at my university in chongqing. i'm on holidays at home... it's gonna have like 600 mb of RAM when no apps are running. i use we chat, path, whats app and pleco(chinese dict.) all at the same time and no lags nowhere..these are kinda heavy and with all gapps running in the background i get 260-350 MB of free ram. if u want Jb then try the latest devices because the OS is best with a phone containing it out of the box.

Please kindly give us jelly bean.
I really disappoint when I read the news thay My Sola will not get Jelly bean.
last year I bought Sola because My X8 only upgraded tp 2.1. and now My Sola won't get Jelly Bean. yes, there are Jelly Bean for Sola unpfficial, but I want official. I love My Sola so I don't want to take any risk by using unofficial JB. please think again about this Sony.
Thanks.

Forget it already...
ICS is already enough for XPERIA sola...

You will be very disappointed if they DO release that JB update...

The reason is that JB uses even more power and RAM...
The decision of making ICS for sola and U is already a mistake!
For a phone with 512MB RAM (368MB user accessible to be exact), the space for running third party apps is a major headache already on my XPERIA sola...

The new updated features, though somewhat helpful but I don't think the others will use much (like Timescape)...

Performance boost is indeed there and I can feel it, but somewhat sluggish at the end of the day...
Weirdly, if the phone is below 10% battery, it somehow slows down, trying it's best struggle with the battery life...

Anyway, I only wish the team can continue release the maintenance update ASAP...
