     I am fed up with this all. I own a phone. It was all fine when it came out. I bought a phone that was made to play Playstation games. A year has passed since it was released, and the software to play the games it was made to play is not out yet. This phone was promised ICS, and that release was delayed. Finally, the time has come to pass for this upgrade to be released. It gets cancelled. Because it messes with the system used to play the games which it was made to play. Those same games it still cannot play. This phone has failed in every aspect, and Sony has failed to hold true to it's end of the bargain. That bargain being, "I buy your product, you make sure the product does what it says it is going to do."

     So, I am here to offer you the same chance I offered Sony Xperia Support on the phone. I have done the math, and over the next twenty years, using a two year contract, and assuming that I buy phones at a reduced price, for the entirety of that period, and that this price were as low as $100, and that I buy no apps, Sony Mobile is losing at least $1000, not to mention all the others that arrive at this conclusion. I will also refuse to buy any more products from any other branch of sony, so each playstation not sold in the future is about another $500-$750 lost. In order to not lose all that money, I offer you a chance to keep a customer. Allow me to replace my Xperia Play with a comparable smartphone (Not one of the new phones like Xperia S, Sola, or P, but rather, one similar to the Xperia Play in terms of capabilies, such as the Xperia Pro), and lose, just once, around $200, to keep a customer, and over time, earn all that money back and then some, by keeping a loyal customer.

     Please, all I ask is for a smartphone like the Xperia Play, that is actually going to get ICS. I simply want a phone that will actually do what it was advertised to do. In return, I will continue being a Sony customer. If I do not get what I feel I deserve, I will let everybody know that Sony is full of broken promises and false advertising, and will warn them against buying any Sony products. I feel this is all perfectly reasonable, as all I ask is for Sony to be honest, or at least give me something that does what it says it will, as opposed to being an outright lie. Sony users deserve better.

i don't think that sony will accept that offer dude they don't care about loseing 10000$ on one costumer.. and if they give you a new smartphone then they will have to give everyone of us useing Xperia play a new phone that means sony will lose more money then they will lose by you not buying ther product.. but I'm really mad at sony because of the ICS news for Xperia play and i hope that they will release it anyway...

I understand. If I had some good contacts i would sew sony for that and i hope that someone would do it for me and everyone who feels the same way.. 4 years ago i brought an iPhone 3gs and it lasted in 4 long years utill IOS 5 came out and my phone startet to lag and get abit slow apple knew it and they also gave a warning to all the 3gs users that it might slow ther phone down but i diden't care and now i feel the same way i got my xperia play in january 2012 because i knew it was a good phone and it would get ICS. it has only been 5month and it's already out and forgotten by sony just because the games arent optimized for ICS YET... -.- next time buy some thing that's not from sony

Tell all your friends not to buy it if they won't compensate uss. Word of mouth is the way most things are sold, and can be most damaging to a company. Hit them in the pocketbooks

If we don't buy anymore, they are nothing, and that's all I have to say here.

Sony do something in compensation to the people like us who waited that long just for a cancelled update or the gamers will move on to the opposition.

I'm obviously disappointed with the Sony, I made the choice of this smartphone just because it was a scheduled update to ICS, and it was not long for sony characterizing breach of contract, intend to file a lawsuit suing sony for not making what it promises, unless it rewards the product.

Why the $@#$ is this "Assumed Answered?!?!?" It was not answered in the slightest! We still don't have our damn compensation! and AllessandroLima, get some other people in, make it a Class Action Lawsuit. No company, of any size, can withstand a class action suit.

I am in the same situation.  Last year I chose the xperia play over a samsung phone which had better specs just because the xperia play was promised to get an ICS upgrade.

I didn't bought it specifically for the games. So no need to tell you I am not pleased with this. I am feeling screwed by Sony. If I knew it would turn that way I would have chosen another phone.

I also think sony should give us some compensation for the cancellation of ICS.
