All settings is gone

The phone Frezes - I restrated the Phone - now all my setting and so on is gone - like the phone had been resetted - Is there a way to bach up android settings - if it happens another time?

You can backup some settings to your Google account if you go to settings > backup and reset > backup my data. 

Otherwise you could download 3rd party backup applications from Google Play.

I suggest that you update/repair the phone software using PC Companion to prevent this from happening again.

I cannot find any solution to back up personalized settings of the phone neither with using Google solutions nor PC Companion (which I think is a big failure that this program don't have a backup solution for the personalized settings)
Yes I know I can backup SMS and Contacts and files
