Alarm does not ring while battery care is active

Hello, yesterday I decided to use battery care feature for the first time.

Before going to bed I set few alarms (as usually I do not wake up with first), plugged the charger in and the phone asked me if I want to use this feature. I selected "yes". The system told me when charging will reach 100%. Cool.

New icon has appeared i the upper left corner (status bar) and I went to sleep. In the morning I woke up on my own and notice there was no any alarm! It didn't wake me up! I checked the phone and it was turned off. It was just showing big battery icon but no Android system was running! I tried to boot it several times but it was hanged. Finally I powered it on and saw it was charged but as it hanged /turned off itself I was very late to the office, I overslept Slightly_frowning_Face Slightly_frowning_Face Slightly_frowning_Face

Now I worry to use this feature again not to be late to the office, I cannot afford it. I will try to use it again but during weekend.

Can someone help? Is it working for you or this is a software bug?

Thank you.

You should keep testing it, you can do it at any time during the day

I've been using this for a few weeks already. Works OK and no issues with my alarm. Maybe you toggled do not disturb somehow with total silence.

Also I'm wondering if anyone has the issue of the battery care charge not reaching 100% before unplugged. I sleep about the same time and wake up the same time but it always needs longer to reach full capacity, so I unplug the charger and a warning appears that I did before it fully charged. How do I adjust the timing so it's fully charged when I wake up, and not 30 minutes after?

Based on what azzido wrote, I assume his phone had shut down while charging. That's not a function of the battery care system. Probably some app hanged the system and the phone shut down. I've been using the battery care function and it's working flawlessly so far. You should check your apps and see if one of them is prone to instability or malfunction.

ikramkhasim, I think you should just keep using it normally, it will adjust itself since it works and adjusts itself with the statistics of your subsequent chargings.

Thanks. I'll try and see if anything changes with the charging timing. The last time I unplugged it before it finished, when I plugged the charger again at night, it displayed a message saying I unplugged it before it was time or something (I don't remember exactly), and the feature was turned off. Would be weird though if it decided once and followed the set timing without readjusting.

I'm on firmware 39.0.A.1.250 and Battery Care does NOT work with alarms. Others have reported the same.

That would SO be the way to do it. Why faff about with this 'learning' business Sony?

Hello, I investigated it and it seems there may be 2 potential and separate issues:

1.Alarms does not work when Battery Care is activated during charging (I am using only stock Sony charger from the box)
2. Batter issue - sometimes battery discharges itself quicklywhen it was charget to 100%

For the second scenario I think this is what happened to me when I reported this issue for the first time: I plugged the phone to the charger for the night and turned on Battery Care. When it charged to 100%, no matter it was still plugged to the charger the battery discharged completely to 0% and I was late to the office.

Then again I did other scenario as follows:
I charged the battery to 100% before going to bed and unpluged it from the charger for the night. The phone was not charging, battery 100% and I went sleep. I assume the phone should go to deep sleep as well right? In the morning I noticed the battery was only 14% left Slightly_frowning_Face Not 0like previously, so alarm rang, but I would expect to lose 1 to 1% of battery over night and not 86% right? Definitely something is wrong with Battery Care mode and when charging the phone to max 100%.

So far it happened to me only twice when first it completely discharged (charger plugged in, Battery Care o n) and secondly when It was ( charged to 100%, charger pkugged off the wall, Batter Care off).

Thank you.
