Afraid to try my z2 under water

I know the phone is waterproof and we can use it under water, but after reading the posts im afraid even to try to wet my phone under tap water.

I dont have confidence as lots of people are complaining about the sony customer support when they had water leaks in their phones.

Completely agree, ASKAD.  Sony advertise the phone as "waterproof" yet won't honour any warrentee regarding water damage.

Unless they state that they will honor any issues due to camera lens misting or leaks i wont even dare to try it.

i washed mine in the sink, using water and a tiny bit of soap. it's fine, just make sure the side covers are closed.

I trust your words but not sony, will try it and hope it wont get damaged.

Using only fresh water making sure the flaps are shut.

Soap will definitely kill the phone, some get lucky. Just make sure the flaps are closed and don't use it directly after exposure.

Soap is safe, when using it gently, like to remove oil or other stains, but as said don't make a bubble-bath to the device, and be sure the water pressure is minimum. As the phone is water sealed, also a soap shouldn't make it inside the phone. Tested mine device in the pool and it worked fine. Remember not to use the walkman and phones directly, wipe it and let it dry for some time.
