A new problem...sound!

Alright so I was at a party in Malta on the 1st of May, a big music festival and stuff like this and I was texting my mates so we could find each other and stuff...but anyways while I was texting some people who know me (they're not my friends) identified my phone as the Xperia Z the waterproof mobile...so one of them can spilled beer (not the whole can but a good amount) on the front of the screen and he started having fun like kids because it's still working.

Yesterday after I solved the charging problem, I noticed that the sound was like low, distorting and puffy (if you know what I mean)...and as I read on the internet, the sound will normally come back after 45mins or even a day. The sound, today is still the same...still low, puffy and distorting.

Can anyone identify my problem, and solve it for me? Thanks Slightly_smiling_Face

Did you wash out the beer (which is made of hops, yeast, sugar, water, etc, etc) out of the speaker afterwards??  If not, well she'll be nice n icky in the mic and speakers lol....  Crying_Face

That time? No...I continued drinking and partying like a maniac...:smileydevil:

Do you think if I can touch it with water today, it will come normal?

make sure all flaps are sealed tight and use warm running water on the speaker port (bottom right corner) and hope that it removes the sticky beer residue that is very likely on the speaker - you probably (as suggested above) rinsed the phone right away with water

hope it works out

after doing this it will still take a while for things to turn to normal

So just warm water, for how many seconds? Slightly_smiling_Face

10 seconds...   then 10 seconds again...  then 10 seconds again..

Lightly dry with a hair dryer on cool setting

Keep doing it until it returns to normal.  Could take a few days.  Beer is effing bad...

you want to clear it all so hard to say - if it was me I'd run it for 5 mins just in that area then let it dry and if still not cleared repeat to process - it will take time as you must wait for it to dry to if it worked, not to much pressure be gentle

beer dries into a sticky goo but is water soluble - warm water even better
