You will need to flash it with Flashtool.
most likely your network is not going to release the update.

As said before: 1836 is not carrier related!
so you never got an update to ICS, I disagree that it's not network dependent, where did you purchased this phone?

I purchased the phone from an independent retailer called "One Mobility". However, I know other people with a 1936 Arc which bought theirs from retailers like the Phone House of Belcompany.
Like I said; there is no carrier related software to be found on my Arc, so how can it be a carrier related problem?
I am from INDIA, bought my ARC from a retailer, 1836 is not carrier related, continuously checking the forum from last 7 months but sorry to say SONY ur services r not good, other companies are far better than u, didnt got my update till...
