Since updating my Z1 to 4.3 via the OTA update the integration to my car has become almost unuseable. the phone is recognised and the car can 'see' the network name. It also imports the contacts but not the call lists. Car controls are unuesable to control phone.
I can make a call if dialled from the phone, and the audio / mic works fine. I can't use the car controls to end the call.
This was all fine on android 4.2.something but it is not workingin 4.3 build 14.2.A.0.920 this is well documented across the web as being an issue withthe bluetooth stack and not a car needing an update / compatibility issue. please advise how quickly you can either:
1. issue a fix by updating . rolling back the bluetooth stack so it works correctly,
OR
2. Tell me how i can roll back the OS on my phone to the previous version so i can continue using my phone with the car in a LEGAL way, until you or Google recognise, diagnose and resolve the issue.
Thanks,
Martin
I have the same problem with a Xperia ZL (C6506). Bluetooth car connectivity was working fine before the Android 4.3 upgrade (build version 10.4.B.0.569). I am using Sony PC Companion 2.1 to look for updates, but nothing is offered yet. Is there any chance to get a preliminary roll-out date? Or any proposal for a workaround?
It's pretty disappointing to have a high-end smartphone that is not usable in a car just because of a software upgrade, and there is apparently no way back to a working device for 4 weeks now ...
Thanks for your quick response and the hint for the new release, Mav!
I feel I have not completely understood the approval process. I bought my Sony Xperia ZL without any simlock or branding, and use it with a German T-Mobile contract that I had already before.
Do I understand you correctly that each network provider - in my case T-Mobile - needs to approve the update before it will be made available via PC Companion?
Thanks again for your help, Markus
I think that is the case, but will vary by operator and counrty.
Its certainly the case in the UK
AntonioRT - what software version have you got? 4.3? I had the same problems when I upgraded to 4.3 (.290 and .136) and I downgraded my phone back to 4.2.2 (.257) Works fine on that version. I dont think Sony will ever fix the problem.. Why should they? It will not sell more phones...

Quickie question - with your 4.2.2 firmware is there within Settings > Xperia Connectivity a "Throw settings" option?
I think the Throw option may be incompatible with a number of Bluetooth stacks.
Yes, there is.. Its only got Auto-select Wireless Option and on my phone it is on (ticked)
Fixed in KitKat
