32GB µSD-Card not recognized at all

Hello,

I just got my new Xperia L today and I am quite happy with it,

but somehow it does not detect my µSD-Card.

In the sd-card menu entries it only says "Enter SD-Card".

I tried to reformat the card with the computers card reader to FAT32 or to delete the partition completely using gparted,

it still does not show on the phone.

I am happy for any suggestions.

With kind regards

Markus

Edit: Got the wrong link for the sd-card, now it is the right one.

Hi i got same problem with my Xperia L,

i bought Transcend 32 GB class 10 card, and try insert into My new Xperia L; its not working,

for trouble shooting i tried in my Xperia Tipo : its working
i tried in Samsung Grand : its working

i called costomer care, and ask for reason, they are saying "only class 6 and class 4 memory cards are supported in Xperia L"

Strange... such issues not exceptalbe from SONY products... disappointed this time with XPERIA phone

For whatever reason Class10 microSD cards do not work in the Xperia L. I tested a few I had, and none of them worked. Right now I'm using a Class6 16GB microSD, and it works just fine.

I got the new card and tried it today.

It is a class 6 and now it works.

It is a Samsung Class 6 32GB card.:

Well this is ridiculous. I got this phone for my wife as present. Also with A-DATA 32GB Class 10 card.

Her old HTC Incredible S can work with this card, while newer Xperia L can't. Way to go Sony Slightly_frowning_Face

UPDATE: To the heck with it, i got Class 4 32GB card from Kingston and it worked. I have no desire to experiment with buying Class 10 cards from several vendors just to find out which are supported by Her Highness Xperia L.

TL;DR: Class 4 32GB MicroSDHC from Kingston works in Xperia L.

Can Sony confirm if its a hardware or software limitation on the Xperia L that Class 10 microsd dont work on the L?

Just to report back: A 32 GB class 4 SanDisk is working just fine with my Xperia L.

I'm sure the unsupporting of class 10 memory cards is just a software bug.

I have ordered a class 10 microsd card and will use it in my camera until the bug is fixed

Hey

I'm having a similar issue on my Xperia L as well. It is a Class 10 16 GB Sandisk Ultra which doesnt work. It worked fine on my Live With Walkman WT19i but isn't working on Xperia L. What I want to ask is that is there any problem with the Samsung Card in a Sony Phone, I mean any kind of incompatibilty.

Thanks

Deepansh

Same thing here with my new Xperia L:

Bought a class10 UHS-1 Transcend 32GB microSD card on Amazon.

The card works perfectly with my colleage's Xperia GO .. I think I don't have to describe the smirk he had on his face.

In the meantime I got a class 4 Sandisk 8GB microSD working with the Xperia L.

This is really shamefull coming from Sony for not testing such thing before rolling out new devices.

I'm quite disapointed and the high esteem I have in the brand is going down till this is fixed.

Don't leave this unatended Sony.

Michaël.

I am getting increasingly worried about Sony's silence on this matter.

A 2013. model phone who can't work properly with Class 10 card - not funny.
