Hello,
I just got my new Xperia L today and I am quite happy with it,
but somehow it does not detect my µSD-Card.
In the sd-card menu entries it only says "Enter SD-Card".
I tried to reformat the card with the computers card reader to FAT32 or to delete the partition completely using gparted,
it still does not show on the phone.
I am happy for any suggestions.
With kind regards
Markus
Edit: Got the wrong link for the sd-card, now it is the right one.
Same problem here with another Transcend Card --> http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00CES44EO/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So what Sony-Support? 2 Days and no answer?
I have a similar problem with my 16 GB Transcend class 10 microSDHC card, my Xperia L says it's either blank or unsupported.. My guess is that some class 10 cards or Transcend cards are not well supported with this phone. Very saddening, but I'm pretty sure it's not the card, since it worked pretty well with my old phone (Huawei Ideos U8150) and it is currently working for my brother as usb storage.. Please Sony support, enlighten us. I'd like to know which SD cards or classes are guaranteed to be supported, so I can check them out.
A 2 GB microSD card from kingston and a 4 GB microSDHC ultra card from SanDisk are both working fine. I'm not sure what class they are, I'm guessing class 2 or 4 for the 2 GB one and class 4 or 6 for the 4 GB one.
This phone is very awesome, but I am sad about this microSD card issue.
Sony support told me that Xperia devices have trouble with some cards that are higher than class 6.. Not the answer you were looking for, sorry
it: for clarification, I guess class 10 cards are not officially supported something. Some work and some don't.
Thanks for forwarding the answer from sony support!
Maybe not the answer I was looking for, but at least an answer.
So it is a hardware problem and it will definetly not be solved with a software update?
I don't know, really. All they told me was that this was an issue with several xperia devices. You could search how or if it is solved for other devices, if I find something I'll try to report back. I kinda gave up on my 16 GB card and gifted it to my brother to use in other devices.
I already tried before creating this thread to find answers in the web concerning this problem, unsuccessfully though.
In that case I will try a different card that is limited to class 6. I will post if the new card works once I got it.
Thanks again for your quick response.
Huch die Info hab ich ganz übersehen,
bei Edit´s gibts scheinbar keine E-Mail Benachrichtigung hier.
Danke für die Info!
Maybe it is wise to first try a sdcard from someone else before buying a new one.. and maybe contact Sony (chat) support for yourself to make sure the card you're planning to buy works, since these xperia's act weird.
