2.1 amp car charger is ok for Z1S?

Hello,

I am shopping for a new car charger, and want to know if 2.1A output is ok. Upon popular anecdotal sources, I see it is ok for many Xperia Z1 devices, but not specifically for the Z1S. And I do not know if the Z1 and Z1S handle power input the same way. The OEM AC/DC Sony wall charger says 1.5A OC, if that helps.

The standard Sony charger is 1.5 A as you said,but I think you are safe to use the 2.1.Though,keep in mind that in long term battery life might be affected.

How might this be so, and what are the reasons for this to occur?

Basically using a charger not designed for the handset can lead to damaging the battery which is why I would only advising using an official Xperia charger for the handset in question.
