Hi @Krs99,

I am sorry to hear about the issues you have had with the device.

Have you attempted to use a friend or family members SIM card in the device to test out the signal strength?

Also, have you checked to see if you have set the data connection correctly?

Apps > Settings > More > Mobile Networks > Preferred network type > Try WCDMA(preferred)GSM or LTE

Let me know how you get on with this.

Hi

thanks for your reply, no I haven't tried my SIM card in someone else's device I've just put it back in my old Sony m4 aqua and is working fine. It's just the battery overheats and sometimes just dies but at least I can receive calls.

the guys from Sony support have said it sounds like I need to do a software repair and sent me instructions, it's just finding the time, I've only had the phone 3 days shouldn't really need to do that I think.

all the network settings are on and set up, I reset them via settings yesterday in a hope to fix it but still made no difference.

how can a new phone that's just been turned on need repairing I don't like it any way what happened to the nano coating that made it waterp resistant and scratch resistant? Why would they go backwards with a newer model.

Hi @Krs99,

I think you may have misunderstood, I don't mean for you to use your current SIM card in another device, what I meant was for you to put a different SIM card in the Xperia Xa1.

Can you attempt this and advise if possible?

Hi,

Thanks for bring this up, i have the same issue.

I now have the XA1 (Dual Sim) for 2 days, the network is one bar less always (Signal Strength -74 dBm 67 asu - LTE).

I put the sim back in my M4 Aqua Dual, it shows full network -All Bars (Signal Streangth -58dBm 82asu - LTE).

people from Sony, please improve the Modem Baseband config.

Mine gets no signal at all most the time so it doesn't actually work so I can't use it.

probably going to have to try that soft ware repair they support mention I'll have to do it

Hi,

What is this software repair that is being referred to here please?

I have had an Xperia XA1 for 14 days nwo and have noticed that the network signal (not wifi) fluctuates wildly between -85dMB to -120dBm. This is very poor. It is very poor on train or bus transport to the point of being unusable. I can obtain -76dBm if near a network mast. I am considering returning this phone.

Sony... do you have advice please?

Thank you.

Hi,

I believe I can answer my own question re software repair... this will the option in the Xperia Companion to do a "software repair".  I will try this but doubt it is going to fix the poor mobile network signal issue.

Thank you.
