Xperia XA screen brightness keeps changing

Just purchased my phone yesterday. Updated everything to latest version. While typing or scrolling the brightness changes. Not permanently. The screen will dim or sometimes brighten up when I touch it. This happens while I'm using it indoor where ambient light is constant and note that I didn't have adaptive brightness or smart blacklight control on.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

@Justaname

Just to make sure it's not a third party app, boot in >>> safe mode and see if you experience the same

I'm having the same issue. Maybe it needs an update? Please help.

You might have a faulty screen. Try also brightness full without adaptive. If there is no problem restart your phone. If the problem persists, go to your local shop / dealer for a check. Keep us posted please.

I tried that thanks. With full brightness and adaptive off the problem goes away

Is this the only workaround? Lol

That will reduce battery life. Did you shut down, turn on, set screen up as it was before? Did it happen again? If yes, it is a software bug.

What do you see under

settings > Display > do you see Adaptive brightness?

does your phone has a protective case, film, glass?

I was having the same issue but when I turned my adaptive brightness off it seemed to fix it.
