Wifi and bluetooth connectivity problems

So this issue has been going on for a bit with the wifi but both problems are similar.

For Wifi it'll report that it has perfect signal but won't be capable of sending or recieving data. This will persist untill I reboot the phone.

Then after taking the recent update (build 40.0.A.162 with November 6 security patch) the bluetooth has been refusing to connect unless I reboot the phone. This occurs with my Mazda, and my Sena 10c headset.

Hi all,

I thought problem was solved with last sysyem upgrade. I spoke too soon. Dropping bluetooth in car and only able to reconnect when I reboot phone.  Lost wi fi a few times and once had to rekey in the security code on my home network ????

I may go back to using an old Z3 compact which works well on android 6 and must be 4 years old. Come on Sony--------fix this.

i think the issue is with caching. the device does not switch between different devices when more then one device is in the list of bluetooth devices.

it will simply scan for the last connected device and sping forever and if that device is not found it will stop.

Forget all the devices and start from scratch pairing them again or pair and then forget it from the list after use.

So effectively keeping the bluetooth device list empty or with a single device to which you most frequently use.

Painful problem to say the least.

I think xa1 is a lemon for a phone just like lemon cars. Bad product from day one.

Hi,

I returned my XA1 to Sony for repair. It gave the same problem after 2 weeks so I returned it again to Sony. They exchanged the phone for the same model with new imei number and has worked perfectly ever since. I had a minor problem with wifi stopping but I was told that AVG security ap. was probably blocking the wifi. I uninsalled this and no more problems.

Translation via Google Translate:

Every time I connect to my Wi-Fi network, some minutes pass in which my Xa1 maintains a stable connection but then does not load the pages or games, and the WiFi icon on the screen remains inert without the two arrows appearing on both sides of the icon that according to is when it is sending packages, what I have to do is forget the network and reconnect and I am already desperate.

Please help...

I doubt very much that there's a fix, but here goes:

Ever since I got my first Sony handset, Xperia Miro, I've had random restarts that delete the content of my music playlists, hours spent assembling playlists gone, this is an issue with the Z3C and XA1 too, and there's no way to back up the data.

The XA1 is the only handset of any brand I've had that randomly decides that my WiFi isn't there, it just tells me that there's no signal and refuses to sign in, even though my home router is clearly visible in the list. A temporary fix is to switch airplane mode on and then off, but a full restart is required roughly once per month.

I feel slightly ripped off, largely thanks to Vodafone charging me extra when they claimed to be price matching, refusing to exchange the previous handset after 30 days, reception fault, no network signal, plus the two faults above, they couldn't fix it, so after 2 weeks I got a new, slightly less faulty, handset.

Really, this stuff should have been sorted out before release, it's not like it's much different from the Z3C, just bigger. I've seriously considered getting my old handset repaired, because it was better, faster and more compact.

It took me about 20 days to sync my Xperia XA1 to my Plantronixs Voyager Pro HD headset and I actually got an RMA to send it back. The headset had always worked well with my Amazon Fire phone, so I did not expect their was an issue in it.

After Internet searchs, I first learned to find and install Plantronicx MyHeadset app.  Found it on Google Play and installed it. But it didn't enable the earset and phone to sync. However, I guess I'm stubborn.

After intensive search of Google, I found the Plantronics site that gave information on how to sync and it told me to hold the headset "power button" in until I got a blinking red/blue light, then to sync the phone. After I did this, PLT_VoyagerPro showed on the devices window and the phone and voyager hooked up and began to work.

Had been very frustrated with the phone showing that it was necessary to enter a six-number "Pin or Passcode prior to this, as there is no way to enter any numbers with Android 8.0, also, PLT_Voyager didn't show in devices until I did the power button thing.

I'm now delighted with the purchase of this phone.

For me this is a different problem than what the long 6 page thread addresses. That talks about how BT and Wi-Fi cannot be used at the same time. For me, that issue went away with the Oreo update. Now, the phone won't connect to WI-Fi or BT devices every 3-4 times or so. Either way it's messed up and I'm so freakin over Sony.  I will make a separate thread on this, but if anyone's thinking of "upgrading" to a XA2, don't bother - even more bugs! (Smart Lock doesn't work, can't move apps to SD card, freezes up when CPU is working hard) -- I returned my XA2, back with XA1 and looking at Motorola devices currently.
