Hello,
About two months ago I got a Sony Xperia XA, I've had one before and always had a very long battery life so I know something is up with my new phone as it is barely lasting half a day even when it's just sitting in my bag not being used.
As you can see from the screenshots, my battery went from 100% to 15% in around 4 hours, a loss of 85%. The largest use of battery life went to my screen display, which has used 12%, all the other apps that are showing in usage have used less than 10%, and when added up, the usage accounts for 28% of battery. So how is it running down by 85%, when it should have only gone down by 28%?
I have also had an issue with making calls, on the first attempt at any call, the phone does not ring and says 'radio off' and I lose all signal. Then after about 5 seconds the signal comes back, and I can make the call. Is it possible this is connected to the battery issue? Is my phone struggling to connect to my network and the constant connecting/disconnecting is draining my battery?
Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you.
Hello @soroat and welcome to the community!!!
So sorry to know you´re facing that problems!
Did you try to repair the software via Xperia Companion?
If, indeed, you are experience signal loss, yes! The battery will drain more since it´is looking constantly for a signal.
You can always try to boot into safe mode, since it can be a good idea to check if any third party applications might be involved in the problem you’re having. Video here!
Since you point that is a constant problem, i recommend you to try to use the phone without your SIM card to check if there´is any interference with the battery consumption. If that´s happen, could be an hardware failure or a damage SIM card!
if that´s the case, i recomend you to contact your local support team. They can send your device to have a proper diagnosis! Or try to replace your SIM card to see if anything changes! But i'm sure your local support team can help you better in that matter.
Please, let me know how the situation evolves!
