Does your phone has a protective case?

Hi @Colbert1, welcome to our forum and I'm sorry to hear about this.

Is it the same when you want to turn the display off, or does it only occur when turning the screen on? As @uliwooly mentioned, if you have a case on the device, try removing it and see if there is any change.

You can also try and restart your device in safe mode and see if there is any change when downloaded applications aren't loaded, so we can make sure that none of them is the cause of this behaviour.
