My xperia xa1 is showing weak signal (1 bar) in the places where I used to get strong signal reception(full bars) with Lumia625
It makes me regret that I switched from iPhone to Sony.
If everyone is facing the same issue, this is clearly a design flaw, I urge Sony to recall the phones and refund.
The bars are relative to the devices capability, not an industry wide standard.
What issues are you getting?
Yeah im also getting 1 or 2 bars... But when i call people they can hear me well
Same here. However, the problem is that I am not able to distinguish between the real absence of signal versus just the representation on screen. I would vote on fixing the issue if there is a way.
Yes.. Am also facing d same issue... Am moved from moto to sony xperia xa1 from sterday only... I clearly said this one had a genric signal strength issue.. In my home i got full signsl strength. From moto but with sony xperia xa1.. I getting only one or sometimes two...
Note:first i suspect my sim and get my new sim from my provider.. But i still getting same issue.. Sony u disappointed me a ton.
Same here. Pretty dissapointed in this since I can' t know when I am in an area that has signal and where I am not. Can you please fix this or I'll have to take the phone back and get another one.
Just changed from moto g 4 with high bar signal on my 3 network sim only contract, seems I'm not the only one experiencing this. Will barewith as early days but if not fit for purpose back to John Lewis!
Hi guys,
I have the same issue but in Xperia-x.
I have written a seperate thread here.

Could this be xperia x series issue? My wife has xperia c4 and she doesn't seem to have the same issue...
When the Xperia updates to Android 8 the signal gets weaker. I tried to keep the phone from updating but couldn't stop it This is a serious problem. Took a great phone and rendered it almost useless. Wait til the word gets out. Hope there is a fix coming soon. Perfect example of "leave well enough alone." Very very disappointed!
