Scandling

I remotely erased my XA1Ultra via my computer. When I attempted to set the device up again I could not recall the password for the Gmail account associated with the device, so I reset the password from the device. I again attempted to set up the device but received a message stating I would have to wait 24 hours from the time I changed the password to set it up again. About 6 hours later I again changed the password again. Will I be able to set the device up 24 hours after the first or second password change? I am new to android having always been an iPhone user, but I have to say it is a little ridiculous to lock me out of my phone for 24 hours because I changed my password. I understand this is likely a security measure, but there must be a better way to go about protecting my data? Is there anyway to immediately remove the ''lockdown'' so I can use my Phone?

No, you need to wait at least 24 hours before your next attempt. Any new attempts to enter the credentials or change them may extend the limitation for more 24 hours.

Thanks for your quick response!! Looks like I'll be switching back to iOS, this is insane.

It's security, and correct me if I'm wrong, iOS will not allow you to access your devices at all if you forget your credentials.

iOS does in fact allow an iPhone to be set up immediately following a password change. If it didn't, Android's 24-hour waiting period would have been anticipated. When changing passwords under these circumstances the device should display a message similar to the information provided in your post. Assuming your post is correct, I will not have access to my phone for another 24 hours. When all is said and done it, will be 56 hours since I last had access to my phone.
