"com.android.phone stopped working" constantly pops up. There is no service provider detected.
I have cleared data and cache for phone services, restart in safe mode - problem persists. Factory reset done and still have the same issue.
Please help!
Well, It's "good" to know that I'm not the only one with this problems with my xperia a1 and videotron. Been 48 hours since the update and I'm still having the same issue after contacting the technical services and trying what they are saying. I will then go to the store to have my Sim card change but I will ask to totally change my phone. Already have the problem with com.android.phone occasionally since a few months on my phone and now that, I don't want to continue at all with this kind of phone anymore!
Anyone knows if the patch update is available to download for Videotron users?
Also had continuously repeating com.android.phone stopped working problem after the Sony November updated on Xperia XA1 Ultra. All attempts to clear cache, data, force shutdown the phone app, even with Videotron local support etc failed. Since this appears to affect many Videotron customers, the issue might be related to the combination of the Sony November patch and Videotron network.
So, in my case, solved the problem by setting network discovery to Manual and switching to (3G) Videotron PRTNR
Parameters > Settings > Service providers:
Network discovery mode: manual (set to manual instead of automatic)
Available network: (3G) Videotron PRTNR (select)
For me, this bypasses the problem with the November Sony patch on the Videotron network by forcing the phone to use the Videotron partner network (Rogers). As my phone is set in French, the setting names may be different from the personal translation above.
