Camera close-up focus

I experience some problems with the autofocus when making a close-up picture. It seems the camera can't focus to a sharp image closer then +/- 15cm distance.. A great disappointment since these phones are advertised for their great camera abilities.. Does anyone know if, and how this could be improved?

As per the phone specs, the minimum focus distance of XA1 back camera is 120mm.
