Apps icon missing

The "apps" icon is not visible on the home screen.  The text "Appar" (Swedish) is still there, though, and when I press the empty space above it, the apps screen is displayed.

"Hide apps icon"   (called something different in Swedish) is not activated.

I have just unboxed the phone, and am on a learning curve...

Yes, I have restarted, no change.

But:

I belive that I have solved the mystery now.

Yesterday I downloaded and applied a "theme";  "Xperia mysterious desert theme".  I just wanted something different than the dark and gloomy default theme.

But apparently this theme has changed the look of the "Apps" icon so that it blends in with the background theme  (it is a silhouette of a bird), and becomes more or less indistinguishable.

Who would have thought...

Actually I haven´t gone back to the normal.  I can live with the situation, now that I know it´s not a malfunction.
