Hi @khairul_rafie,

There isn't a specific calibration option in this handset, but you can test it and make sure it is working correctly so we can determine if it is the app or the gyroscope/accelerometer that are the issue.

Go to Settings > About Phone > Diagnostics > Test, and test both the Gyroscope and Accelerometer.

@CameronT (why can't I mention people??), the XA has no gyroscope but an accelerometer, it is also powered by an MTK soc which is famous to have the most fuzzy accelerometer (and the slowest GPS) ever, it can be calibrated by various apps but it's something that sadly you'll have to redo every few weeks as it easily lose calibration... of course, there is the "root" way, but that is something I do not recommend at all. Seriously, kids... do not root your phone unless you really know what you are doing.

Anyway... returning to the topic... As there is no gyro but accelerometer, games and app the require a certain precision may not work perfectly especially when you get fuzzy results from the accelerometer...

So!!! So, you may want to download this simple app (free, ad-free) from here, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.androgames.level

Install and launch it... then put your phone on a table or flat surface (and hopefully it's... at the right level) and press the calibrate icon.

Done? Cool! Now try to play any game or app that require the accelerometer.. better?

It is a big shame that a new phone doesn't have a gyroscope although even the Chineese replica phones have today. I was sure that xperia had. I bought this phone 4 days ago. Today I decided to buy a VR. But learnt that my new phone doesn't support new technologies. Now I am going to sell it half of its price and will a Chineese replica phone which is more technological than sony.

I have bought this phone yestarday, and I was trying to figure why I couldn't get rotation on VR.

Before buying it, I did check the the specs I was interested in (4G, dual SIMM, 6" Full HD screen, dedicated sd expansion memory), but it never crossed my mind that his thing wouldn't have gyroscope bult-in.

Also it seems that it has a compass sensor bult-in, but I can't find any simple compass app in the phone.

(I need it for astrotimelapse).

Bought a XIAOMI 4C two years ago, by the same price I'm paying for this "new" phone, I don't have one of the most important features that I really need to showcase my VR work in 6" screnn, the gyroscope and a built in compass app.

From a company so strong in media capture, editing and distribution, I never imagine that this function wasn't available.

I'm stuck with a piece of junk in my hands.

I don't think you'll find an answer here, perhaps because it's a budget phone, but this is one of the things any user should look into before buying a phone. There's nothing that can be done now, sorry.
