This is an old issue that has received no attention from SONY and has STILL not been fixed. There are multiple topics concerning this and this is a SONY FIRMWARE ISSUE that messes up recording videos on SD CARD, I thought it was >200GB micro-sd cards, but I see here people say 64GB is also affected

See my earlier topic regarding this: /t5/Xperia-X-Compact/Memory-card-200GB-and-up-in-size-can-t-record-video-Unknown/m-p/1224243

Hi,

Unfortunately, I have the same issue. Did anybody try to reset the Smartphone to factory settings?

Does anybody also know when there will be an update to repair this problem?

Thanks a lot!

Same issue here, but only after October patch update. Never faced before.

I'm having the same issues with both the X Compact and the X. The issues started after an update in June or July 2017, perhaps when it went to Android 7.0 Nougat, but I am not sure. That's when the first "dead" videos appear in my Album. If I clear the cache and clear data from the phone app, then it will let me save to the SD card for a few videos before it fails again. I can also switch to saving internal memory, then saving to SD card, and it will work for a few times before the in-progress spinner keeps spinning, and the camera app is unresponsive, and a dead video appears in the album.

My 128 GB SD card is fine. I can use a third party app like ProShot to take videos, and it will save to the SD card, so please do not tell me to use another SD card. But ProShot will not let me take photos at 23MP because Sony only allows third party cameras to take photos at 8MP maximum, which is ridiculous, but that's a different complaint.

It happened to both of my phones at around the same time after a similar update, and it's happening to many people. This is clearly some software issue that broke for that update. I can't imagine that it will take much to reproduce the problem.

FIX THIS ISSUE PLEASE!

It's still not working like it should be.

Issues, issues it's not a solution. It should work normally from the beginning. We had few updates during this time and still nothing.

SONY!!! ANY ANSWER???

And the problem is for over then 4-5 months

Hello,

After my X compact has the same problem, I have now done the following. Have I bought a new / second X Compact, data restored, SD card again in! In the beginning I thought it was good - but again the same problem .. **bleep**! Dare not make a video, because I'm afraid to have filmed in vain!
Not to mention that my iPhone buddies then laugh at me ;-)

Someone already found out what? Could now imagine that it is an app or setting ..

SONY finally do something or subsidizes us one XZ compact.

Greetings and thanks for answering

Hi

Unfortunately no answer from Sony. I think that they don't know what the problem is. When I bought my X Compact I had no problem with video. It came after update but I don't remember which one.

No answer from Sony, that's so fooking Slightly_smiling_Face stupid.

Fix it!!!!!!

My Xperia X does this as well. Very annoying. I've set to write to internal storage which is a pain. Starting to loose faith with this phone. I've already had a camera lens replaced due to poor quality photos. Photo quality still poor after all that. Sony's repair shop also said there was a problem with the case seal on my phone. Bit worrying for a product which is only a few months old.
