@Toni_ai

Are you using the internal memory of the SD card as your default storage?

You can check from Camera -> Settings (gear icon) -> More -> Data storage

Yes, use SD card 10 speed class. He can do it after second or third tries...

@Toni_ai

Can you try testing in the following conditions:

- When in safe mode

- When the default storage in the internal memory

Same Problem here. (recording to sd)

Video recording with unlocked phone works fine. When starting the camera app without unlocking the phone, video recordings can't save.

Switching to internal memory makes the issue disappear, but I would like to record to SD.

Hope it can be fixed.

Hi

I have the same problem. It's recording but when I push "stop" it's not saving just "thinking" very long time. One thing what I can do this time is to press on/off button to switch off the display. But even then camera is on, I see buttons but it's not reacting when I pushed them. And it's not a problem with SD card, I have very good and fast SD card. And of course sometimes it's saving. Please fix the problem with saving!!!

I've tested with 3 different sd cards (1x32GB and 2x64GB)  the same problem.

@QLA and @Quester Actually this is something that is happening to my X Compact since day 1st. What "fixed" for me the issue was to save all pictures and videos to internal storage and then periodically dumping all my medias into the SD card. It's not an SD card issue (tried on both a low/high end SD card) di per se but a problem related for sure with the SD Slot or the drivers/firmware. I suspect something like a bottleneck somewhere in the software that cause a timeout and then a failure.

Other symptom? If I select to save photos/videos in the SD card and I open the camera, the 1st photo get shot, then the interface will become blank, only viewfinder will work. No other action is possible and you won't be able to shot another photo until the interface will return on screen. This does not happen if I select to store medias in the internal storage.

Sooo.. temporary solution, save all your medias in the internal storage and periodically move them to the SD card.

Same problem here.  When I pressed stop after recording, the phone just freezed. I changed default storage to internal memory, recorded a video (successfully) and then changed default storage back to SD card. After that it seems to work normaly.

EDIT:

Changing default storage to internal memory and back to SD card only partly fix this problem. It works only for few first videos. After some random time it doesn't work anymore. I don't know what is the reason for that. I am expecting a fix soon. And I am expecting a reply from SONY to tell us if you are already on your way fixing this problem.

Same thing here. Very, extremely annoying. Sony has to provide a firmware update SOON.

PS. Saving to internal memory and then moving videos to the SD card is not a solution. It should work without the user having to do anything.
