X compact can't save video recording
Try to format the card on the computer, choose exFAT method.
Same problem on Internal memory. We need a fix for this!!!
Fixed on Android ver. 8.0
Are you sure???
If yes it's great finally
I have android 7.1.1 on my X Compact and I didnt get any info about update to 8.0. I don't know if it's possible to update. Maybe I have to wait but how long, it's really annoying !!!
This update seems to have fixed this issue and left me with another. Now Google play store wil not update apps. I keep getting error code 506. Seems this is a common problem also. I have deleted cache and data from Google play and services. Restarted the phone ovov and over. Unmounted the memory card and all other steps suggested when searching for this issue. Any other ideas please sony?
I still don't have update to 8.0, why ???

The update to Oreo seems to have fixed the issue for me. I've taken a few videos and they've all save at Full HD to my SD card. I hope it works for everyone else. Also, regarding this comment:

It's unfortunate that you're having another issue and I hope that you get it fixed. But the issue you're describing sounds quite different than this video saving issue. I would suggest that you start a new thread or post in an existing one rather than hijack this thread. Let's stay focused on the topic of this thread.
I had the same problem under Nougat. But now, with Oreo, the Sony camera app doesn't start. It's like a loop. I start the app, then it shows the option for tagging places (in german) "Ort speichern?" -> "Ja" (or "Nein", makes no difference), next Screen "Verstanden" (I Agree), and then it starts again with "Ort speichern?" -> "Verstanden" etc. etc. etc. ...
Any constructive suggestions? NO factory reset! Clear cache app: done; deactivate/activate app: done; restart phone: done; ...

At the moment I work with a third party app.
Maybe this can help you? @kaltvront
Oh, please report back if it is a solution for you, so you can help others.
I just got the update to oreo 8.0 today.
I will update it in 1 hour and we will see if they fixed the problem. I hope so. ..
