Updated to Oreo - SMS notification (sound) not working! Tested "everything"...
Changed to another app, Messages, then it works.

What messaging application are you using? And what did you test?

Standard-app in Xperia, tested whit Messages and then the sound works...

I found the problem! It's in the Preferences of the app.
Apps and notifications > Appinformations > Messages >  Appnotifications > In Categories, tap on Messages > Tap on Relevance > Tap Urgent (or your own choice of notification)

Thanks for sharing this. I would 'never' have found that setting! And it should have automatically set to 'high' in the first place, imho.

my device SOV33 also upg to 8.0 but what in settings you have mentioned here not in my version

Apps & Notifications -> App info -> (no defaul Messeges) SMS -> App notification ->

now there is nothing mentioned in your solution/guide line.

i think this is because of different Model ?
