Problems with charging while phone is turned off

Hello,

I have a weird problem with charging on my Sony Xperia X Compact.

It happens when battery goes zero (or phone is turned off) and I connect the phone to a charger. So, when I connect the charger to my phone, it starts charging and a white screen with SONY written on it comes on. But then it suddenly stops charging after 5 seconds and the black screen comes back. Then it charges again for 5 seconds and the same thing goes on and on.

If I want to use my phone finally, I need to wait some time to get atleast few percents with these 5 second charges and then turn on the phone manually. It gets annoying. You can say to me that ''Just don't let your battery go zero'' but it still happens from time to time, can't avoid that.

I have also tried different chargers and It's still the same problem.

My question is that what could cause this and are there any known fixes?

Maybe because it is a weird problem indeed.

Trial and error should help you pinpoint the problem.

First try another USB cable and/or clean the USB port.

Oh and you're not alone. :smileysmileywink:

On a dutch Volvo forum there is a thread about V60 PIH cars refusing to load when battery capacity is below 5km.
