Problems after oreo 34.4.A.0.364

We waited too long for the oreo update, hoped an update with a great stability however it has been a total disappointment for me. Here are te bugs i discovered :

1) adaptive brightness is totally went crazy! it may even trigger an epilepsy attack

2)Weather App's widget is reset after every re-start and i have to set the locations everytime after re-starting phone

3) excuse me but i will write this with capital letters.. WHY  YOU QUİT XPERİA KEYBOARD AND CHOOSE SWIFTKEY? xperia keyboard was the main reason for me to buy an xperia phone and don't understand why you left it? I installed an apk of xperia keyboard but CAN'T DISABLE SWIFTKEY so everytime on softkey bar there is a keybo8ard button active and sometimes while writing a long message i tap by accident and it's not good ( this was not in Android 7 )

4) there is no battery life anymore.. if i enable stamina mode it is acceptable however the phone always freeze and not usable

5) why you removed moving apps to sd card?

i hope there will be an update to fix these problems if not, i will end my relationship sony and i don't plan to buy another xperia ( i am a former user of xperia go, z1 compact, m4 aqua, z2 and now xperia x)

How long have you had Oreo installed before posting?

Xperia keyboard - this was probably a business driven decision... perhaps next to nobody used it?

Apps to SD, I think, is a Google thing.

Ha! Threatening! That will solve it!

  1. Adaptive brightness has been mentioned before. For the time being better switch it off and wait for a software repair.
  2. This reset is uncommon behaviour.
  3. Install another keyboard from Play Store and use that as primary keyboard. First install the other and after that disable SwiftKey
  4. Settle down and let the device settle down as well.
  5. Do a search for app2sd on PlayStore

If problems continue then have a look here.

Another problem is the inability to add short cuts to the home screen. For instance, before Oreo I could simply add a short cut to a website to my home screen using Apex Launcher. Now, when I try, it shows me the button to add the short cut but nothing happens after I click on it.

I'm using:

Apex Launcher 3.3.3

Chrome 64.0.3282.137

Android 8.0.0

Since firmware got updated, and Oreo gives permission in a different way for some things,it might be good to check under apps-> apex, if all permissions needed were given. If so, but it still doesn't work, try clearing those permissions, and it should ask you again for each one.
