Oreo update = no wifi

Since I've updated my phone I can't use wifi at all.. It just keeps disconnecting and reconnecting like every 10 seconds (even in safe mode) already tried to repair/reinstall the software via companion but it didn't help.

Anyone else with wifi problems here?

In general a reboot of the router can help, as well as clearing/resetting the WiFi settings on your phone.

To learn a bit about WiFi:

Goto settings->Network & internet and tap on the first WiFi network

You will see a screen with all WiFi networks that your phone knows

Tap on the ? sign in the upper right corner and you will see an information page.

Tap and learn.

How to reset your network settings:

Goto settings->Network and Internet -> tap on the 3 dots in the upper right corner and tap reset network settings

Enjoy and report if this helped you.

More information can be found in the FAQ.

Then you can try to do a factory reste and NOT reload your backup.

See what will be the result of a real clean install.

That was the first thing I did.

Edit: it's working fine in airplane mode

Whát is working fine in Airplane Mode???

  • Cellular: Your device will stop communicating with cell towers. You won’t be able to send or receive anything that depends on cellular data, from voice calls to SMS messages to mobile data.
  • Wi-Fi: Your phone will stop scanning for nearby Wi-Fi networks and attempting to join them. If you’re already connected to a Wi-Fi network, you’ll be disconnected.
  • Bluetooth: Airplane mode disables Bluetooth, a wireless communication technology most people associate with wireless headsets. But Bluetooth can be used for many other things, including keyboards and mice.

Thanks, i know what the airplane mode is Slightly_smiling_Face i use airplane mode over night because i don't want to receive calls if I'm about to sleep. I just noticed if I'm in airplane mode and turn on wifi it seems to work better (its still disconnecting and reconnecting but not like every 10 seconds)

I had the same problem after updating this morning. Try disabling bluetooth, then enabling wifi, then re-enable bluetooth. For some reason that worked for me.

This update seems to be killing the compact, mine wouldn't connect to cellular , now it's gone for repair to Sony free of charge .
