My data connection has become unreliable after the oreo update, often timing out or stalling without changes in location. Apps like lyft stop delivering search results and messages are sent/received with delay. I cannot put rhyme or reason to it but is clearly happening to others as reported on the forums. Resetting network settings does not change anyhting. I hope Sony can address this in a 8.1 update and save the phones.
