Do you really have to go to this level Sony?

In my opinion Sony marketing has reached a sad level.

Since today I am more or less pushed to install booking.com on my device.

We used to have Facebook pre-installed on our devices.

Happily that's over.

Instead we see a commercial app appear.

In supermarkets it's rather common that brands buy exposure.

What was in it for you Sony?

Please marketeers, keep your back straight!Screenshot_20180124-223219.png

Oh and btw

Security patches and the long awaited Oreo update as announced on 31 August 2017.

Meanwhile I have learned that an advert like this normally goes through "What's new" and in what's new recommended app adverts go through the update section of what's new.

In this instance the app advert has been erroneously sent to system update instead of what's new update and on reporting of the error, the app has been removed from the update service.

Booking.com has disappeared from the update menu Slightly_smiling_Face

So in the end it is a lot of fuzz about a simple mistake, more or less like the mistake on Hawaii :smileysmileywink:

Preloaded apps vary per region and by carrier, which version do you have? and is it network branded?

Booking.com is back

What is happening here?

Is it supposed to be in Whats New?

Are we supposed to live with advertising?

Will we have to pay a premium price in the future if we don't want to bothered with advertising?

It's strange, so strange.
