Cannot block notifications from What's New app even if notifications are OFF

I keep receiving notifications from What's New app even after I turned off notifications in Settings -> Notifications -> What's New. I have attached the screenshot of the notification I just received and the screenshot of the notification settings.

Why am I still receiving these notifications from What's New app? It is annoying, time wasting, cluttering my notifications. If I cannot turn off notifications, disable the app or uninstall it, I will be forced to root the phone, lose my warranty and uninstall all of the Sony and other apps I cannot currently uninstall.

Goto settings->apps and disable What's New

Another solution is adb and 'uninstall' What's New

I have the same problem since Android Oreo update.

These setting you show only affect sound and notification icon turning off(read the descriptions on your screen). You can turn off notifications themselves by opeing app->settings->Show notification (turn it off).

That doesn't work either.

After a long time/or reboot the settings enables by itself

I did this already once. However I know the What's New app updated since then and just now I checked and the Show Notification in the app itself was again turned on. So you have to keep doing this every time the app updates, as the other user said.

This is time wasting again. So this does not work either. It works only temporarily, until Sony updates the app again.

Any other solution?

What's New is a system app - the disable button is greyed out 😕

I "uninstalled" the app using adb, as suggested by Strampke and as I read on XDA forum. This is the only way and I did not have to root the phone. Thank God I never have to see another notification from this annoying app. By the way, I used the same method to uninstall other apps such as Amazon Shopping and Facebook. Just google search, "remove bloatware without root android" and first link should be the step by step from XDA.
