Hi Guys,
Anyone facing this issue? I use Nougat 7.0 before. Since I upgrade to Nougat 7.1.1, the battery life is worse.
Just to let everyone know I tried all these things:
- Repair
- Repair + factory reset
- Not restoring backup
- Turning off location services
- Turning off Keep WiFi on during sleep
- Not installing Facebook, Messenger, Instagram or Zedge (all notorious)
- Not letting any app have background data
- Not letting any app have unlimited data access
- Manually dozing most active apps
- Installing Doze app
- Turning off auto sync
- Turned off OK Google
- Turned off the Google home button long press thing
No matter what... good old Phone Idle was a rock steady 15% or thereabouts.
So it's kinda good news. I can install all those Zuckerapps and not care about settings.
Interesting. I had seen the thread in a separate forum about a faulty SD card being the source of the nougat battery drain but never tested it out until today. Note my above list does not include "removed / replaced SD card".
So I did today... and it's 430pm and I have 73% battery. That's pretty well what I had when I was raving about the battery on marshmallow.
Mind you I also switched to battery saving location and have auto sync mostly off.
Will report back in few days. See you have to appreciate today Sony is dealing with someone else's code all the time. It's not always their fault.
Same here. The standby is much shorter after upgrade to 7.1
Same here.
Tried every thing.
SOT didn't seem to be a problem on my phone.
Now discharging batter to Zero and recharge to see if it helps.
Maybe it is related to this :

Hi
I have the same issue, phone is hot and not lasting more than maximum 8-10 hours.
I checked the memory usage on the phone, and see that the android OS uses almost all the RAM the phone has, making my apps being reloaded all the time and therefore using all the battery. Are you guys having the same high memory usage? On my old Xperia Z2 the android uses 546mb on the Xperia X Performance with nougat android uses 1,9 GB!!
Same here
By now we should know not to update Xperia devices.... this happens most of the time.
Great.
Better.
Bad.
Rocks.
Respect to Sony Japan for not releasing most updates ( and they don't write them... which could be part of the issue )
