Access MicroSD Card without native software (mass storage mode)

Hello,

I am just using my brand new Sony X Compact for a few days and I am quite satisfied with the phone so far.

Just one little issue: I am used to copying files from computers with different OSs (Windows, macOS, Ubuntu, etc.) to the MicroSD card in my phone, which has been very easy with my previous Sony Z1 Compact supporting a "mass storage" mode for the card, which worked on any machine.

My question: does the X Compact support such an easy file transfer mode?

The use of a native software to transfer files is no option for some of the machines I am using.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Regards,

omegalpha

The latest generation of Android devices are now using media transfer protocol or MTP. As far as I know this is how Google designed its latest system to increase security

Just plug your X Compact into your pc with the USB-C cable and select the MTP file transfer mode on your phone. In Explorer (or other Os) the file transfer works like you're used to.
