VGX-XL301 IRRITATING BEEP WHEN ADJUSTING VOLUME

Hi All,
Isn't it funny that the little things are often the most annoying?
I now have my VGX-XL301 set up just the way I want it. The only irritation is that when I'm in Vista Media Centre and I use the remote to adjust the volume, I get a beep from the speakers. I guess this beep is designed to tell me how loud the volume setting is (derr. . . ). But I find it really annoying. I have "Sounds" in Windows Control Panel set to "No Sounds". I have Sounds turned off in the Media Centre settings. The only sound I want to hear is that generated by the media I'm playing. It's most irritating when I'm watching a quiet movie sequence late at night, I press "volume up" on the remote and I get beeped at. This jerks me straight out of the "movie experience".
Apart from this, I LOVE my Vaio!
Any suggestions on how to stop the beeping?
Thanks
- Mike

Hi Goatman.

Delete, rename or move the pi.wav file.

If you are using Vista you should find this at C:\Program Files\Sony\VAIO Event Service

If not just search for pi.wav...
