I'm having some major issues with my Vaio GRX316MP and USB devices - most USB2 devices that are susposedly 'backward compatible' with USB1 just don't work on my Vaio, although they do on just about everything else! I have managed to get a MS Optical mouse & a D-Link bluetooth receiver working just fine. However a series of printers and now a SoundBlaster Live external sound card just refuse to play ball.
I have downloaded the latest SB XP drivers and have updated the BIOS for the Vaio. My version XP Pro is SP2 with all the latest Windows Updates.
When I install the soundcard, my Vaio picks it up and I can see it in Device Manager but it has the yellow ! icon and refuses to install the drivers.
This works on other laptops (I work with lots of different models) but not on mine!
Does anyone else have this problem too or know of a way to fix it? I have tried googling but I only get to the Creative website (where I got the drivers from) or I come here...
