I have a spare Pentium M 2ghz CPU from my old media center system, and although it fits, and powers up in my Vaio, it only runs at 600mhz instead of 2ghz.
I have put the original 1.6ghz CPU back in for now, but there must be a way...
Is there a BIOS/Firmware update I could run to make it select the correct frequency and multiplier?
On my old Toshiba laptop, I was able to upgrade it from a 2ghz Celeron mobile to a 2.2ghz P4 mobile by running a BIOS update, so I am just assuming there's something similar to do here.
Any ideas?
Nobody has any idea at all?
