Typing probelms

When typing on line the cursor will suddenly jump to another place on the page. So you can either end up typing in earlier text or in the middle of a no-where.

Its taken ages to type this, anyone any ideas?

Hi and welcome to the Club.

If you double click on the Touchpad icon in the system tray (or type Mouse into the Start Search), mouse properties will open.

On the 'Tapping' Tab, check the box for 'Tap Off when Typing'

On the 'Function' Tab, make sure 'Web Assistant' is unchecked.

Hi I don't have the touchpad in the sytem tray and my mouse options don't include those that you've listed

What model Vaio do you have?
What Operating System are you using? Vista or XP?
Are you using the original Sony Software?

I have a FE31Z using vista on a recent upgrade and thats when the problems started.

In Device Manager (Start -> Control Panel -> Device manager) expand the branch "Mice and other Pointing Devices". What Mice does it say are installed? Is there an ALPS Pointing Device installed?

If not, try downloading the Vista Pointing Device Driver 7.0.501.5 from FE31Z Vista Downloads and install it.
