Sony V2S - Problem sorted - Many thanks

Guys, I'm so glad I came on here and asked you all. Guess what was causing the graphical glitches....

ZONEALARM!!!!

Thank you so much. I have no put the hammer back in the garage that I was going to use to smash the machine into little pieces.

Kieron....i agree with paxton.
But also take a look at "GEIL", they make one of the best memory-modules out there.
Also i can recommand the INFINEON, be sure to get only DDR400 modules, other may work but u will see a performance-down because of the slower memory.
The one inside form SONY is a good choice (DDR400).

My Aibo died a few weeks after purchase (the ERS-7) so that didn't help my faith in the Sony brand.

Sad News .

I never Had One but found it stunning to see ,

Can He not Be Revived ?

Thanks guys,

With reference to the memory - would this be ok?

http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/PartSpecs.asp?imodule=CT6464Z40B&cat=RAM

Some state they are "Unbuffered" some state "ECC" etc - very confusing. Any idea of the exact spec of the module already installed?

As for the Aibo - it was repaired under warranty. I also managed to find the original ERS-110 aibo from 5 years ago that is now boxed up ready for the Antiques Roadshow 2050 !

The aibo (ERS-7) fault was with it's knee joint. Luckily the Sony Centre at the Trafford Centre swapped him over and sent the old one in for repair.....
