Hey Guys,
Any help with my problem would and i would be eternly grateful, i currently am the proud owner of a VGN-FE21M, when i got my machine i was amazed at the quality but recently a program has appaerd on my Windows Task Manager although i can find no program files or programs that are named this. But i did read some where that it could be related to Java, this problem is causing my machine to run slowly even though i have 1GB of memory and it also causes my browser to close with no notification and also closes with a not responing error message. Apologies for the long winded explanation but any help would be gratly apreciated.

Hi Kieran and welcome to Club Vaio.
Do you have MSN set as you homepage in IE? You are right, it is a Java applet used by some sites - MSN is one of them.
Have a look right at the bottom of the page in this link -
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/lofiversion/index.php/t86138.html
it will give some info on stopping this running - it only runs if your Homepage uses it!!

Thank you very much Blencogo, i will try this now as this is really quite annoying, if it does work i'll let you know, if it doesn't then although i don't use msn, i do have quite a few tabbed home pages so i'll try what the person on that link said, again thank you very much i owe you one.
Kieran.
Well I tried and failed, i did as the link said and checked my pages one by one and on their own none of the pages opened up search glow, so then i thought maybe refreshing the pages had got rid of it, but i put them all back which are ClubVAIO, GoogleUK, BBC News, BBC Sport, Warrington RUFC and BBC Weather. When i did this search glow once again reappeared! But then i deleted the home pages one by one saarting with the weather until all i had left was ClubVAIO and GoogleUK and no SearchGlow FINALLY but how can i have my home pages with out this Search_Glow. Thanks for the previous help but i am still stuck, anymore help would be grately apreciated...
Kieran.
The only way is to put them all in your Favorites folder - not set them as home pages.
I must admit I have a blank Homepage set (about:blank) because I don't like anything being loaded without me knowing about it. All my frequently used sites are listed in the Favorites Bar and can be opened with one click.

Hi KP141
From what I can find search_glow is part of the Windows Live Toolbar..
Have you tried disabling the Windows Live Toolbar from IE, hopefully then search_glow should disappear from the Task Manager
Ah well thank you very much Blencogo and Thalamus, I will try both of your ideas, and hopefully this will be the last of Search_Glow, Cheers once again,
Kieran
Well yes i guess thank you is once again needed this time, i have succesfully added all my homepages again and removed windows live toolbar and finnaly no more search_glow! Woop!
Many thanks Kieran!
