Remote Viewing of Webcam

Afternoon,

Hopefully someone will be able to help me again here.
I've recently bought a webcam and have installed it on my Laptop - all is working well.
My question is, how can I view the images it's capturing, remotely from another PC - eg images from home being viewed from my work PC?
I know it can be done (recent(ish) article in the news about a guy who saw on his webacam, someone breaking into his house!), but even having 'Googled' I still haven't a clue how?!?!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark/Boris,

try the XP Webcam Powertoy from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx - it will take snapshots periodically and copy them elsewhere, which could be a network drive if my memory serves me correctly.

There's a discussion on the very functionality you want here: http://ask.metafilter.com/25303/Capturing-video-automatically

If you want to do this as a security-against-laptop-theft, make sure the programme is invisible and running all the time.

hth!

Thanks for your reply, davemee.
I'll have a look at the Powertoy, although was really after video segments - looking at the other link you provided, it looks like WebCam32 might be a good option.

Cheers
