regarding recovery disc purchase

Hi all,

i have PCG-Z1RMP sony vaio model laptop. i got this laptop in Germany. but currently i am not staying in germany. i am in India.

i want to purchase the recovery disc for my laptop. My recovery disc which was shipped with the laptop is not getting detected by my optical drive, but my optical drive detects all other dvd's and cd's.

can i make payment online, and get my recovery disc for my model of vaio laptop shipped to my place in India ?

please advice.

Hi niranjan_sundaresan,

Do you have access to another PC, if so try making a copy of the recovery disc and then try doing a recovery with the newly created disc..

I've asked Sony as I'm not sure if they will ship recovery disc's to India..

thank you very much for taking the trouble to ask the Sony guys if the disc can be shipped to India.

Unfortunately i dont have access to another Sony Vaio laptop with similar model, currently and i am stuck up. and unable to proceed further.

I seriously dont know y my disc is not getting detected during Boot process. after i login into windows..i can very well see all the contents of this disc. Just that it does not get detected during boot process.

My laptop is damn slow these days due to lots of unwanted softwares which i installed, and that was the reason i was planning to reformat with my recovery disc.

if you know some alternative way for my problem. please let me know.

I think Sony will be able to supply a recovery disc set to you in India, but I'm just waiting for clarification on the correct process for you to follow to order and arrange the shipping of them..

Yes. i got in contact with e-support and i raised a case with them. it is Case 2586***. i have replied to them, with what ever details they wanted. i hope they will give me a positive response. and i hope to get a new recovery cd
