PROBLEM BURNING DISKS WITH PCG-K315M

I have a PCG-K315M which is approx. 17 months old. Lately it seems to have developed a problem burning disks (both cd's and dvd's). I mainly use Nero but have tried some other burning programs with no luck. It will either crash at about 5-6% or will fail to do the short read out or will complete the disk but the music will come out garbeled (on audio disks). It is also now failing to burn data disks too. I have tried various media brands, again with no luck. On the whole the drive is fine reading disks but not burning. Am I looking at a hardware problem here? The drive is a PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-K14. Thanks.

Hm...i think its an hardware problem. Maybe you have to change the internal drive... :slight_frown:

Thanks for the reply SirRobin. I thought it was probably a hardware problem. So do I have to replace with the same Pioneer drive? Or can I use any drive? And how straightforward is it to replace the drive on my model?
