When switched on my Vaio model PCG 6P1M says 'cannot find operating system' I have switched on/off etc. I cannot find answers in the trouble shooting guide to overcome this. Help me please!

It is possible your hard drive has a problem (which means a replacement) or the boot records or operating system are corrupt.

Can you check the model number of your Vaio as the one you have given (PCG 6P1M) means nothing to me and may be a chassis number. Without knowing which model you have it is difficult to offer any suggestions - I don't even know what OS you have!

If you are running XP you will probably need to borrow an XP Pro installation disc. This will allow you to boot from the disc into the Recovery Console and attempt to repair your boot.ini and master boot record.
