Measuring temp ~ k series

hey i have a sony vaio pcg - k115m

id really find it useful if i could somehow measure the temp of the system, or cpu using software..

on my desktop, im running `motheboard monitor` which provides a great set of stats relatiing to the motherboard, inc cpu temp!

however, this useful program does not support the k-series motherboard (or about 90% of any other vaio motherboards)

anyone know of any other programs to display temp?

i tried searching the bios but i found it extremely limited and it basically displays very little info

thanks in advance,

Nick

Hi

Ive had my K-115Z for 3 months and so far have not had any of the problems I see mentioned here. I have just downloaded Mobilemeter and the harddrive runs at 46 degrees and the processor at 57 - 59 degrees. This is after 2 hours running, surfing and playing music.

What are the "normal" temperatures, more importantly at what temperature can I anticipate problems?

thanks to Kee-lo and Nick P for their advice.

No higher than 65 degrees in my opinion.

GBS..you're temps are average though i reckon as kee-lo said, be aware as you approach 65 degrees..

70 and above and the overheating problem this model suffers from could be happening. still you've had it for 3 months, so things sound good

by the way Kee-lo, using my vacuum cleaner yesterday, sucking hot air out of the back vent dropped my laptops temp to 27 degrees..thats a new personal best for me

Lowers temps and gets dirt out at the same time, ingenious Nick.
