Hello guys,
I'm experiencing problems (see the screens) with graphic card HD 6630m in the SPEED mode on notebook VPCSA2C5E (the new SA series), Win 7 64 bit. I suposse the problem is in the graphic driver, but according to Vaio Update I do not need to update my graphic driver and I'm unable to install the driver directly from AMD/ATI.
My current driver is: 8.823-110229a1-113653C-Sony
Shogun 2:

Anno 1701:

The strange rendering problem is on all games I tried to run: Anno 1701, Empire Total War, Shogun Total War 2, War Inc. Battlezone,... Different settings, restarting/reinstalling games/notebook/drivers (from Sony website) doesn't help. I installed the newest DirectX.
Everything is running fine in STAMINA mode = Intel HD3000, but performance is weak.
Any ideas? Thx much.

Hi TomasSK,
I think you will need to contact Vaio Support. The Graphics Driver on your model is a hybrid driver which supports BOTH the ATi HD6630M and the Intel HD3000 chips and facilitates the hot-switching from Speed to Stamina Modes. Because of this you cannot install the standard AMD/ATi drivers.
You will need Sony to update this driver and the more people who report the problem to Vaio Support, the quicker it will be fixed.
I presume you have tried playing with the Gaming Settings in the Radeon Catalyst Control Centre?

Sony VAIO C Series VPC-CB3S1E
I5-2430M 4 GB DDR3 PC3-10600 1333MHz
AMD Radeon HD 6630M 1 GB / Intel HD Graphics 3000
Graphics Driver Update (AMD) - 8.850.5.3000_8.15.10.2476
This describes my brand new machine.
I'm not satisfied with the graphical performance either.
It runs much less smooth than on my old laptop, which had a nvidia 9600M 512MB.
The Windows7 Aero performance says 5.1, on the old one it was 5.9 in Vista64bit.
I wonder what has happen within the last 4 years?
The machines is within the same pricelevel.
